The book focuses on the political economy of oil from an Arab perspective, presenting something like an autobiography of oil since its discovery until now. It attempts to draw a panoramic picture of it showing the elements of its influence and its impact on scientific developments, and its entry into the arena of political and economic conflict on local, Arab and international levels, according to the conditions in each country, and according to the view of the different parties on the role of this commodity in shaping political, economic and military strategies.
