This book aims to redefine the concept of disability and reconsider the phenomenon of social and legal discrimination towards people with disabilities. It refutes the assumption that the state of being a normal or healthy human being is relative to the condition of being disabled. It also calls for the need to respect differences amongst people and overcome the idea of reducing a person to his condition of disability, to make changes in the field of disability studies and improve the life conditions of the “disabled” person by supporting them against various forms of injustice, marginalization and social unawareness, and to formulate new concepts and principles that are consistent with the idea of difference as an existential necessity.
