The Centre for Arab Unity Studies published the second edition of the book Political Power and Media in the Arab World by the writer Ahmad Qurran Al-Zahrani.
The relationship between the media and the authority always bears a problematic characteristic, the conflict overshadows it most of the time, and stasis prevails at other times, depending on the nature of the political system in which the authority moves, and according to the media’s interaction with it on the two levels known in media life: transfer and criticism.
The book that we have in our hands studies this problem, and highlights its practical details and cultural expressions, through applied models, delving into its depths in order to reach general conclusions that can be benefited from in the media and culture in the Arab world.
It is not a secret to researchers in particular, and to readers in general, that such studies have a distinct importance in an era in which the media, with all its means, occupies an influential and pioneering position in the making of public opinion.
The Center for Arab Unity Studies, as it makes this book accessible to Arab readers, is confident that it will provide a qualitative addition in its field, as it excels with high accuracy in monitoring reciprocal relations within the triangle of power, media and the public.
