The Center for Arab Unity Studies published the book Gaza: An Inquest into its Martyrdom by Dr. Norman G. Finkelstein (translated by Ayman Haddad).
This book lists facts of the struggle of the Palestinian people in general, with a focus on Gaza and the successive massacres and “suffocating siege” that befell it. It describes how the Israelis continued to shun peace offers, and exert pressure on various international forums to silence witnesses- with the help of the American sponsor, and to get away from any punishment.
The book consists of four sections and an appendix. The first section deals with the “Cast Lead” operation and its consequences, in addition to a full account of the reports of international human rights organizations regarding it, and the arguments made by defenders of Israel.
The second section analyzes the Goldstone report, then his retraction from the findings of the committee he headed.
And, the third section deals with the Israeli attack on a humanitarian aid convoy and its political and legal consequences.
Finally, the fourth section deals with “Protective Shelf” operation, with a detailed account of the Israeli atrocities and the betrayal of human rights’ organizations for the people of Palestine following this crime.
Finally, the appendix presents a unique comparison between the legal status of the South African-apartheid regime- occupation of the state Namibia and the legal status of the Israeli occupation.
