Between Philosophy and Mathematics: from Ibn Sina to Kamal Al-Din Al-Farisi

This book is a compilation of working papers focusing on the impact of Avicennian philosophy in the Arab-Islamic civilization and what pertains to the latter based on previous research and studies. It explores the epistemological revolution of Ibn Sina that led to a major breakthrough by the philosophers of the seventeenth century, including his overall contribution to the field of mathematics. Other studies in this book focus on Avicenna’s influence in the fields of philosophy and theology, the connections between the two, as well as their differences drawn from a dialectical standpoint of Islamic theology which is thoroughly discussed in the book.
