The Center for Arab Unity Studies has published the book The Flood of Al-Aqsa: Studies in Conflict and Fate by a group of authors (edited by: Fares Abi Saab).
The Flood of Al-Aqsa operation on October 7, 2023, was not an ordinary event in history and in the course of the Palestinian cause and the Arab-Israeli conflict, just as the genocide in Gaza and the post-Flood wars in the region were not ordinary events as well; not only at the Palestinian and Arab level, but also at the Israeli, Western and global level in general. The Flood that came to unleash a cry in the face of “ending” the Palestinian cause -through strangling Gaza, expanding displacement and settlement in the West Bank, and generalizing the Zionist normalization project with the Arab regimes- revived this cause, though at a heavy cost of Palestinian blood shed of men, children, women, and elders, and in distorting the landmarks of history and civilization in the Gaza Strip. As for the Israeli-American wars against Gaza and the region that followed the Flood, they carried goals and brought about transformations whose results did not stop at the limits of the Palestinian cause alone, but included the geopolitical map of the Arab Levant at least, and re-identified identities, concepts, value systems and narratives in the West itself.
Two years after The Flood of Al-Aqsa, and on the verge of an agreement to end the genocidal war in Gaza, the Center for Arab Unity Studies is publishing this book, which is a collective work in which a group of Arab researchers and writers contributed, and most of its studies were published in the Arab Future journal over the past two years. The book includes thirty chapters that dealt with most of the background and dimensions of The Flood of Al-Aqsa operation, the genocidal war that Gaza was subjected to for two consecutive years, and the Israeli-American wars on the region during these two years.
The book’s chapters address and analyze the background of this conflict and the crisis of the Palestinian cause. They cover the facts of this war, its objectives and dimensions, the Arab and international positions on it, its repercussions on the Palestinian cause and the Middle East region in general, and the future of the Palestinian cause and its prospects in light of these repercussions.
