Nations often go through periods of crises in which the need to seek identity and self-revision is felt. This study is an attempt to uncover the circumstances of the formation of the Arab nation, to define its identity in history, to examine the level of self-awareness, as well as the developments of this awareness in the modern era, and aims to address the continuing elements of this awareness and the nature of changes occurring within it.
