This book is a collection of contemporary research, studies and reviews focusing on the philosophy of al-Farabi, his theory of logic, the relationship between religion and politics, his theory of knowledge, and other topics pertaining to the subject matter. It is meant to assist and initiate researchers specialized in the fields of philosophy and the history of science, to a new method of reading and interpreting the philosophical and scientific heritage of al-Farabi.
This book is the second of six, successively published by the Center for Arab Unity Studies in the series titled «Historical Studies in Philosophy and Science in the Arab-Islamic Civilization», adopted by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman and supervised by Dr. Rushdie Rashid, which is primarily concerned with the translation and publication of texts in theology, philosophy, history of pure and applied sciences in the intermediate Arab-Islamic culture.
