The book is the first comprehensive work on Sudanese-Chinese relations. It attempts to answer a number of questions about the nature of relations between the two countries, about the extent of China’s commitment to its slogans about cooperation with developing countries, the nature of China’s early interest in Africa, and about the reasons for Sudan’s failure to benefit from these relations to achieve comprehensive development.
The author relies on preliminary information, as he worked as a diplomat in the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which allowed him to closely follow Sudanese-Chinese relations.
