The Palestinian Cause and the Isreali Problem: A New Vision

The Center for Arab Unity Studies published the book The Palestinian Cause and the Isreali Problem: A New Vision, by Dr. Labib Kamhawi.

Talking about the Palestinian issue attracts the attention of most Arabs because of their firm conviction that the Zionist presence is the basis of all the problems that plague the Arab region and threaten international stability and peace, and that the prosperity and stability of the Arab world depends on getting rid of this Zionist presence and its racist creed and its occupation of the Arab land of Palestine and other Arab lands. This was and still is the basis of the correct and honest Arab historical position in dealing with the Zionist occupation of the land of Palestine as an existential threat to the Arabs as it is to the Palestinians. However, the developments that took place during the last two decades by the Palestinian Authority and some Arab regimes, lead to the question of the reality of the change in this position, and the reasons surrounding it, and the twisted means that those regimes used in pursuit of covert and then overt normalization with the Israeli entity. This change over the past decades has prompted a number of thinkers and writers to study and analyze this development and phenomenon. With the frequency of events and the passage of days, writing on this subject became more difficult as a result of the many successive changes and the decline of public interest in the Palestinian cause.

This book presents a new vision and creative ideas for what should be done and ways to deal with the reality or the available options, with an emphasis on national constants and an explanation of the flaws that afflicted the Palestinian cause at the hands of the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian leadership that resorted to the Oslo option as an alternative to the option of struggle and resistance in its various aspects, as well as some regimes which chose the path of normalization as an alternative to the path of rejection and confrontation.
