The Center for Arab Unity Studies published the book Contemporary Philosophical Thought in Syria by a group of researchers. The book was prepared by Youssef Salameh and Mouchir Bassil Aoun.
This book, which deals with contemporary philosophical thought in Syria, is the second in a series of philosophical books issued by the Center for Arab Unity Studies on Contemporary Philosophical Thought in a Group of Arab Countries. This book was preceded by the first book on contemporary philosophical thought in Lebanon, which was published by the Center in 2017.
And if one looks at the jurisprudence of contemporary Syrian philosophers, which are the jurisprudence monitored and investigated by this book, one must realize that the philosophical orientations that these Syrian philosophers followed may belong to various doctrines. In the work of each Syrian philosopher, a character prevails, a method prevails, a trend emerges, and a saying prevails. This book has classified these intellectual trends according to international philosophical doctrines. The contemporary Syrian philosophers, like all contemporary Arab philosophers, have been deeply influenced by the issues of universal philosophical currents, especially the Western ones, and have worked hard either on adapting with or opposing them.
