Al-Jabri examines the origins of the Renaissance project in the context of synchronizations and conflicts – which occurred or are still ongoing over a century ago – within three grand projects: first, the project of European modernity which, with its colonial face, is not faithful to ideals of freedom, progress, peace and welfare that Europe has preached to its own peoples and the colonized world; second, the project of world socialism which originated from the outskirts of Europe and is representative of a hegemonic Russia; and third is the Zionist project which is one of the many aggressive and racist faces of European modernity
