The book explores and compares the various political practices of the Hamas movement prior and after its involvement with the Palestinian political establishment. It examines how the democratic practices of Hamas are constrained by its own ideology despite the fact that major transformations are occurring within the Palestinian political arena, which require new and sound adaptable measures. The goal of the book is to assess the factors that led to changes in the attitude of Hamas towards the adoption of democratic practices, by basing the analysis on a number of organizational and political elements prevailing in the Palestinian political arena.
