The occupation of an independent country and a member of the United Nations, and the destruction of all its institutional foundations- military and civil, and the killing of hundreds of thousands of its citizens including children, women and the elderly, in addition to plundering its wealth, fragmenting its society and its people divided religiously, sectarian and ethnically, and thus the elements of the modern state are erased in it- all of this under false pretexts and arguments by a \u201csuperpower\u201d state that claims to sponsor and defend democracy and human rights- is something that cannot be justified or explained superficially and based on the narratives that accompanied that invasion and the events that followed, which Iraq still endures its repercussions until today, because of the consequences of that invasion and its catastrophic effects, not only on Iraq, but the entire Arab region and the entire world. And instead of transforming Iraq into a luxurious, democratic state in which human rights are respected, as the invaders claimed, the occupation has turned it into a failed state ravaged by terrorism, corruption, internal division, and exposure to the outside.<\/p>\n<p>This book presents a detailed historical and analytical review of the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the regional and international circumstances that preceded it and the destructive events and repercussions that followed.
